1) Behr rad's are bad design, same as OEM. It will blow out again, so it should come with wingnuts & a AAA Premier Membership for unlimited towing & roadside assistance. Buy redesigned Nissens, guy. The advise you got was bad (old), before the Nissens update was discovered and announced last fall (by me).

I can't speak for Nissen, but Behr seems to suck.....at least some of them. The ones on the newer e39 are constantly cracking below the upper rad neck.

I can't find it right now, but I read that the Nissens radiators have metal tanks. If that is the case, they don't need metal sleeves in the necks. I would certainly opt for metal tanks if that is an option.

I never owned a Evan's radiator, but I know that my oem Mercedes failed in 2 of my cars, one because of a broken neck and that was a BEHR. I do remember that Mercedes oem BEHR has an updated part number for their rads.

I just put in a Nissan and no problems. The Behr at the dealer was $550. The nissan was $225. It is a Denmark high quality radiator. Behr is getting ready to start making theirs in CHINA.

If you tell us Nissens is cheaper $250 vs $350 for Behr automatic rad then go with Nissens.
Nissens makes alot of radiators for other cars such as Volvo etc.:

The common sense is that if Nissens is bad then they would have declared Chapter 11, so the fact that Nissens is around for a while then they must be good.
in this aftermarket business, cheap does not mean bad. "Cheap" sometimes is even better than "expensive".
Go with your gut feeling and get a Nissens.
