Pe un alt forum, un tip care are atat un Serie 5 E28 M5, cat si un Serie 7 E38 740iL, a postat o comparatie in ceea ce priveste fiabilitatea acestora.
Mie mi-a placut foarte mult (deh, doar am si eu un E28) si m-am gandit ca poate o sa vi se para si voua interesanta. Spune mult despre fiabilitatea BMW-urilor vechi, versus fiabilitatea celor noi.

My M5 is almost 20 years old. It has 171k miles.
Let's compare the M5 to my 7/96 "97" 740iL that I've had since 11/96 as I have full histories on both.

The E38 has needed 7 window regulators, and will need at least 1 more soon.
The E28 has all of the original regulators and motors in it.

The E38 has needed a new sunroof cassette and will need a new headliner soon.
The E28 has needed none of this.

The E38 has needed 6 new radiators and has blown 2 expansion tanks.
The E28 has needed 1 expansion tank and 2 radiators.

At 140k, the E38 has needed 3 sets of lower control arms.
At 171k the E28 has had this job done twice.

Things the M5 has original, but the E38 does not:
- Engine
- Transmission
- Climate control panel (2 of em)
- Instrument cluster (2 down, needs #3 soon)
- Stereo display (Done that twice, needs it again)
- Door lock actuators (dont even get me started here.. I think 7 of them too)

Plus the E38 has lots of silly electronic devices that break...
- I've given up on the garage door opener
- CD Changers are worthless
- Power steering columns fail

And what's worse is that the E38 guys laugh at the E65 guys because their cars are unreliable!

Well, duceti-va voi la om si spuneti-i ca ati luat cursuri de la Toma Necredinciosul. Eu tind sa-l cred. Mai ales ca nu pare a fi novice - are o flota de BMW-uri: 1988 M5 (E28), 1987 535i (E28), 997 740iL (E38), 1995 525iT (E34) si 1980 635csi (E24 pe platforma E12).

Eu stiam ca este touring-ul vandut pe piata americana. Habar n-am daca informatia este corecta, sau mai este vreo diferenta fatza de modelele care nu au "T".

si toate astea devin neinteresante cind cobori din e65 in fata la Fitze biggrin.gif

sa nu uitam ca masinile se fac de ceva timp pentru primul cumparator, care de cele mai multe ori nu trece de 150k km .
