Profitul VW se tripleaza: vanzari mari, costuri mai mici Options

Iata ca, in aceeasi zi cu anuntul privind diminuarea profitului BMW din cauza costurilor si a concurentei (vezi acest link), VW anunta triplarea profitului in trimestrul III al acestui an, comparat cu aceeasi perioada a anului anterior.

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Volkswagen AG, Europe's largest carmaker, said third-quarter earnings more than tripled as sales rose and German employees agreed to work more for less money.

Net income rose to 273 million euros ($329 million), or 71 euro cents a share, from 67 million euros, or 18 cents, a year earlier, Wolfsburg, Germany-based Volkswagen said today in a statement. Sales gained 13 percent to 23.9 billion euros from 21.2 billion euros a year earlier.

Chief Executive Bernd Pischetsrieder has introduced new models such as the Passat midsize sedan and A4 luxury car and is reducing costs by 3.1 billion euros this year. Wolfgang Bernhard, a former DaimlerChrysler AG executive hired last year to revive profit at the Volkswagen brand, has won price concessions from parts suppliers and agreements with employees to work longer hours.

Nota: Pentru cine nu stie deja, Bernd Pischetsrieder, acum director executiv la VW, a ocupat functia similara la BMW intre 1993 si 1999. A fost dat afara de la BMW din cauza esecului cu Rover.
